Abstract:The flaky Fe- 10%Co(mass fraction) magnetic alloy powder, on whose particle surface the coating layer was quickly prepared for different times by sol- gel process, was obtained by ball milling method. The microwave electromagnetic properties and the reflection loss of the coated samples were also investigated and analyzed. The results show that the proportion between the electromagnetic parameters and the wave absorbing performance of the alloy powder have been improved significantly after coating by SiO2; With the increase of the coating times, the thickness of the coating layer increases, while the complex permittivity and permeability of the samples all decrease, but the complex permeability changes slightly, and the reflection loss peak of the sample decreases constantly with the corresponding frequency shift to high frequency due to the improvement of its impedance matching performance, thus the microwave absorbing ability of the alloy powder has been enhanced obviously. However, too much coating times is not conducive to the impedance matching for the alloy powder,and will also lead the electromagnetic wave attenuation ability to be so weak, which will result in the bad wave absorbing performance.
